TITLE: Senior Planning Analyst

LOCATION: West Michigan

SUMMARY: Management Business Solutions (MBS) is seeking a Senior Planning Analyst for a contract opportunity supporting parking services, transportation planning, land-use analysis, and commercial corridor assessment in West Michigan.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, research, and project coordination skills, with experience in parking operations, parking facilities, transportation planning, urban planning, infrastructure, or related consulting work. This individual will analyze existing data, evaluate development and transportation conditions, help develop tracking tools, and prepare reports and visual materials to support planning and operational initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Analyze selected commercial corridors to assess transportation infrastructure, surrounding land uses, and commercial, industrial, and retail development conditions.
• Review existing data and identify trends, gaps, and opportunities related to parking, mobility, land use, and commercial development.
• Help develop scorecards and tracking tools to monitor corridor conditions and support planning decisions.
• Coordinate with project teams and stakeholders to integrate research findings into transportation and mobility planning initiatives.
• Prepare maps, graphics, presentations, and other materials to communicate findings and support community outreach.
• Organize research, document findings, and contribute to project deliverables throughout the contract assignment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, Geography, Public Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in parking services, parking operations, urban planning, transportation planning, land-use planning, community development, consulting, or a related field.
• Experience evaluating parking conditions, transportation infrastructure, land-use patterns, or commercial and retail development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret datasets, identify trends, and translate findings into practical assessments, recommendations, reports, or tracking tools.
• Experience coordinating projects and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical findings to nontechnical audiences.
• Experience preparing maps, charts, graphics, presentations, or other visual materials to communicate findings is beneficial.
• Experience with GIS, spatial data analysis, or data visualization is beneficial.
• Experience with public-sector projects or community engagement is a plus.
• AICP certification or an advanced degree in planning or a related field is a plus.
